[ARCHIVED] Juneteenth Jubilee Weekend

Juneteenth Weekend Flyer 2023

The City of Bowie and the Diversity Committee welcome you to celebrate our annual Juneteenth Jubilee weekend on Friday, June 16 - Sunday, June 18!  There are several exciting events planned for all ages.

We will kick off Juneteenth with an African dance class at Allen Pond Park on Friday, June 16 at 7 p.m.  The class will be followed by giveaways from the Bowie Baysox and the showing of the movie 42: The Jackie Robinson Story.  Bring your blankets and popcorn.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ruby’s Southern Comfort Kitchen and the City of Bowie will host a citywide Juneteenth Family Reunion at Allen Pond Park to celebrate Juneteenth. The festival will have food, games, entertainment, marketplace vendors, inflatables, arts and stilt walkers.  Come learn about Juneteenth, shop, eat, and celebrate the culture.

On Sunday, at 8 a.m., Always Visualize Success, along with the City of Bowie Police Department and the County Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys, will host their 3rd Annual Fathers and Family, Juneteenth Bike Ride from Mitchellville Fields. Starting at 9 a.m. come watch the middle and high school teams compete in a 7-7 football tournament and lineman's challenge! We will end the weekend with the Sunday concert with the reggae sounds of Proverbs Band!
