The Bowie Police Department is introducing its new community-centered approach to recruiting Police Officers. Chief John Nesky says, “Now more than ever it is vital for our community to be part of the process of shaping the way it is served. To encourage that involvement, we are offering a $500 incentive to anyone (yes, anyone!) who refers a successful Police candidate to us.” Successful new hires are also eligible for a signing bonus of between $3,000 - $9,000.

This announcement is the beginning of a new recruitment strategy that the department will be phasing in over the next few months. Chief Nesky is excited about this effort and  says, “The future of policing begins now and it begins with our community.”
