The Bowie Gardens 4 Wildlife group is helping Bowie become a National Wildlife Federation (NWF) certified Community Wildlife Habitat (TM). To achieve this goal, the City must meet education and community project requirements and have a minimum of 200 homes, 6 community sites (office buildings, parks, places of worship, homeowner associations, etc.), and 5 schools certified by NWF.
On Saturday, May 18, four residents will open their certified backyard habitats to the public. They will be available to chat about what has and hasn't worked for them and can give pointers on how to get started in your own backyard!
Habitats will be open rain or shine, unless there is torrential rain and/or thunder and lightning.
The link below has a map with addresses and times the habitats are open. For more information, email Bowie Gardens 4 Wildlife or call Tiffany Wright at 301-809-3043 weekdays until 5 p.m.
