[ARCHIVED] Mosquito Control Spraying in Neighborhoods

Mosquito spraying will run, as needed, from May 29 thru September 17, 2019 in Bowie. If you suspect a mosquito problem in your area, please call the Public Works Department at 301-809-2336.

Adulticiding – Communities will be visited based on the Adult Mosquito Surveillance / Spraying Schedule if mosquito complaints have been reported in the area .  A surveillance crew member will either place a portable light trap overnight or do a landing count in complaint areas. If the number of female mosquitoes does not exceed the action threshold (3 female mosquitos in a 2 minute count, 10 female mosquitos per night in an unbaited light trap or 24 female mosquitos per night in a baited light trap), spraying will not be done.

When spraying is needed, it is done weekly according to the Mosquito Spraying Schedule.Learn more about the program at www.cityofbowie.org/mosquitoes.

To help control the infestation please remember to replace bird bath water, empty children's toy's after it has rained, empty dog bowls, etc.

For further questions, please call Dawn Cullins at 301-809-2336 or email dcullins@cityofbowie.org.
