At its next meeting on January 17th, City Council will vote on the Melford Village proposal, put forth by owner St. John Properties. It involves 1,793 dwelling units, including 293 townhouses, and 1,500 apartments, 500 of which are restricted to seniors. In addition to housing, the proposal calls for 528,500 square feet of commercial and office use. Before the Council meeting, the plan will also be reviewed and voted upon by the Bowie Advisory Planning Board at its meeting on January 10th at 7 p.m. Public hearings will be conducted prior to the votes at both meetings.
