Regular meetings of the Bowie City Council are usually held on the first and third Monday of each month (except August and December when there is only one meeting). Agendas for each meeting are posted on this site by the Friday prior to the scheduled meeting. In general, there are two times during a regular meeting when the public may make comments:
- Citizen Participation: During Citizen Participation at the beginning of the meeting, the public may speak about any topic relating to Bowie. The time limit is five minutes.
- During Public Hearings: The public is encouraged to offer comments on a particular issue being voted upon by the Council during the Public Hearing portion of regular meetings. The time limit is five minutes.
Those wishing to speak may sign up upon arrival to City Hall prior to the meeting beginning. You may also sign up to speak in advance by emailing cityclerk@cityofbowie.org prior to 7 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Those unable to attend the meeting but wishing to submit comments for public hearings or the Citizen Participation portion of regular meetings may do so by emailing written testimony to cityclerk@cityofbowie.org. Testimony must be received by 7 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Testimony will be attached to the minutes for the record but will not be read during the meeting.
