COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST II
This is full-performance technician work responsible for public safety communications in an emergency communications center. Incumbents are required to use Radio, call taking, and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems along with other computer equipment to evaluate citizen requests for public safety service, dispatch appropriate emergency resources within assigned area and class capabilities, and track events to identified conclusion.
• Two (2) years of responsible work experience as a Public Safety Emergency Dispatcher OR
• One (1) year experience as a Public Safety Emergency Dispatcher I plus one (1) year experience in an emergency medical services environment responding to highly stressed callers in need of public safety services and have attained and maintained all related certifications, training, and program experience stipulated by agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified American Heart Association (AHA) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Basic Life Support (CPR/BLS) course for Health Care Providers.
• Completed the Practical and Academic Public Safety Dispatcher I/II training program.
Salary: $48,040.00

POLICE OFFICER - Entry Level
Police Officer: Charged with maintaining order, protecting life and property and upholding the laws of the State of Maryland and the ordinances of the City of Bowie. Must work independently; perform regularly assigned duties under general orders.
Qualifications:
- 21 years or older upon Academy graduation.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- U.S. citizen.
- Valid Driver's license
- Must pass physical agility test, written exam, background check & drug screening.
- Must meet the standards set by Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC)
- Must be certified or certifiable by MPCTC
Salary: $48,040 to 54,525 (Promotion increase effective upon Academy graduation)
