Teen Mentoring Program

The Bowie Teen Mentoring Program (TMP) matches adult volunteer mentors with students at Bowie High School and 8th graders at Samuel Ogle Middle School and Benjamin Tasker Middle School. Mentors and teens meet weekly, during the student’s lunch period. The voluntary participation of both mentors and mentees contributes to the success of the program.

The weekly meetings between a mentor and their mentee help to build a positive relationship that has the potential to change the course of a teen’s high school experience, their life, and the community. Through this program, students gain a stable, caring, and nurturing relationship with an adult mentor, increasing the student’s sense of personal confidence and resiliency.
