Campaign Finance Reports

Filing Requirements 
Section 6-75 of the City Code requires treasurers appointed by candidates for elected City office to file campaign finance reports which shall contain all contributions received and expenditures made in furtherance of the candidate's election.

The reports must be filed by the close of business on the fifteenth day of each month. A successful candidate shall file a final campaign financial report that is accepted and approved as sufficiently itemized and complete by the Election Board or its designee no later than noon on the day prior to the date on which the successful candidate takes office. 

Unsuccessful candidates shall file a final campaign finance report that is accepted and approved as sufficiently itemized and complete by the Election Board or its designee within 30 days of the election (Refer to Sec. 6-75 for complete language). 

Campaign finance reports from prior election years may be obtained by filing a Maryland Public Information Act request with the City Clerk
 
Note: No person may solicit or collect funds to be used in furtherance of the election to municipal office of any person who has not filed a Certificate of Candidacy and the Notice of Appointment of Treasurer. (City Code: Sec.6-68(d).
