All dogs, cats, and ferrets in the City of Bowie must have and wear a current Prince George's County license. Prince George's County licenses are valid for up to three years depending on rabies expiration date. You may purchase this license at City Hall (15901 Fred Robinson Way) at the Animal Control window in the lobby.
Licensing Hours at City Hall
Pet licenses are available at City Hall Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Annual Pet Licensing Fees
- $10 for a spayed/neutered pet
- $25 for an unaltered pet
During regular business hours, Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., payments may be made by cash or check. Make checks payable to Prince George's County.
Residents 65 years of age and older (proof of age required) may obtain two free pet licenses per year provided their animal(s) is spayed/neutered and is up to date on rabies vaccination(s).
If the license has lapsed beyond 30 days of the expiration date, a $3.50 late fee will be assessed.
Documentation Needed for Licensing
Bring proof of a rabies vaccination and proof of spaying or neutering if applicable.
