The Operations Division of the Bowie Police Department consists of five sections:
- Communications: The purpose of the Communications Section is to maintain 24/7 coverage of non-emergency police call-taking and police dispatch throughout the City.
- Training: This involves maintaining Police certifications for sworn and civilian employees by preparing and presenting yearly training.
- Records: The Records Section reviews, stores, and delivers reports.
- Property and evidence: Staff are responsible for storing releasable property or evidence for court.
- Administrative: The Administrative Section conducts background investigations for new hires and coordinates uniform, equipment purchases, and fleet maintenance.
The Operations Division is under the command of Lieutenant Sean Schwartz.
