
The Bowie Playhouse, also known as the "Theatre in the Woods", is tucked away in Whitemarsh Park and is a technological marvel for its size. A fully accessible 150 seat community theater with a full fly-system, state of the art LED lighting, and our highly talented theater technicians and technical director, will leave you in awe of what a small and cozy theater is capable of offering!
Getting Here
The Bowie Playhouse is located in Whitemarsh Park (16500 Whitemarsh Park Drive), and is accessible from Route 3 South. Proceed in the park past the Bowie Sport Fit (on your right) to the end of the park drive. General parking will be on your left; handicap parking, to the right down the playhouse drive.
Parking
The Bowie Playhouse is situated in a semi-remote location within Whitemarsh Park. Parking adjacent to the theater is restricted to handicapped parking only. General parking is located approximately 250 yards from the theater, in the park's general parking lot. Please take this into consideration when planning your visit.
Accessibility
The Playhouse has four (4) wheelchair accessible seating areas and can offer hearing impaired listening devices to aid the hearing impaired. When purchasing tickets, please be sure to indicate if wheelchair seating is necessary. Handicap parking is adjacent to the theater.

All City of Bowie properties, including the Bowie Playhouse and Whitemarsh Park, are no-smoking properties. Please be respectful and comply with this policy upon arrival.
