Consolidated Plan for Community Development

Consolidated Plan for Community Development Fiscal Year 2024 - 2028

The City of Bowie receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding on an annual basis from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support a variety of on-going programs offered to City of Bowie residents. These programs include the Single-Family Home Rehabilitation Grants, the Workforce Development Program, Fair Housing Education, and other activities including COVID relief programs.

Every five years the City must develop a Consolidated Plan for CDBG-funded programs, giving City staff and residents a chance to review previous programs and plan for the next five years. This process includes developing a plan to solicit residents’ feedback, called the Citizens Participation Plan.

The City’s CDBG activities benefit low- and moderate-income residents through the City’s

CDBG funds were also made available for COVID-related relief programs, which the City used for Emergency Rental Assistance and Emergency Food Assistance for residents whose income had been impacted by pandemic conditions.
