Free Workforce Training Program for Young Adults

  • Do you need help figuring out how to approach the working world?
  • Do you need help gaining job skills?
  • Are you interested in a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Would you like to start your own business?

If you are between the ages of 15 and 25 and answered yes to ANY of the questions above, then you can benefit from the City of Bowie's Workforce Training Program.

This FREE program offers residents between the ages of 15 and 25 an opportunity to learn life skills and to develop workforce skills. It also includes information on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) career paths. A second module focuses on Innovation and Entrepreneurship for those interested in owning their own businesses. Applications will be accepted online starting Tuesday, January 17, 2023; the program will take place in April and May, 2023.

  
2023 Program Dates

  • Application Period: Tuesday, January 17 - Friday, March 3, 2023
  • Public Information Sessions/Q&A: (no need to attend both)
  • Participant Interviews:  January – March

Life Skills and STEM Careers (4 sessions/1 per week)
Youth Sessions (ages 15-17) - Tuesdays, 6 to 8 p.m.
Session 1 - April 11
Session 2 - April 18
Session 3 - April 25
Session 4 - May 2

Adult Sessions (ages 18-25) - Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m.
Session 1 - April 13
Session 2 - April 20
Session 3 - April 27
Session 4 - May 4

Innovation & Entrepreneurship (2 sessions/1 per week)

Youth Sessions (ages 15-17) - Tuesdays, 6 to 8 p.m.
