Free Workforce Training Program for Youth & Young Adults

  • Do you need help figuring out how to approach the working world?
  • Do you need help gaining job skills?
  • Are you interested in a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)?
  • Would you like to start your own business?

If you are between the ages of 15 and 25 and answered yes to ANY of the questions above, then you can benefit from the City of Bowie's Workforce Training Program.
This FREE program offers residents between the ages of 15 and 25 an opportunity to learn life skills and to develop workforce skills. It also includes information on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) career paths. A second module focuses on Innovation and Entrepreneurship for those interested in owning their own businesses. 

Participants must live within the municipal boundaries of the City of Bowie. Use our address checker tool to determine if you live in the City of Bowie.

Application Process

The application period for this virtual program is every January. The program begins after Prince George's County Public School's Spring Break and includes six sessions: 

  • a four week course covering STEM careers and life skills, and
  • a two week course covering innovation and entrepreneurship

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email from the program coordinator to schedule an intake interview and go over the program curriculum.
