Absentee Voting


City of Bowie Absentee Ballots Procedures

In accordance with Section 6-30 of the City Code, any qualified voter of the city, may vote as an absentee voter in any general or special election. 

The application for Absentee Ballot must be presented no later than 5 p.m. on the day before the election (Monday, November 6, 2023), excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. It may be presented by mail or delivered in person by the voter or the applicant's authorized agent. 

When the application is received by mail, the board shall issue the absentee voting ballot by return mail and when the application is presented in person by the voter or duly authorized agent, the board shall issue the absentee voting ballot to the voter or duly authorized agent at the time of application.

Persons receiving absentee ballots shall also be furnished official self-addressed, return envelopes for use in returning the marked ballots. Only those ballots received in official return envelopes shall be counted and considered properly cast.

All absentee ballots must be received by the time the polls close at 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 7, 2023.
