Overview
The Human Resources Office provides service, support, and staffing solutions to City operations. It takes a leading role in vital areas such as talent acquisition; employee and labor relations; benefits administration; performance management, and compensation analysis. It is a primary objective of this office to ensure that the City of Bowie maintains the most talented, highly engaged, and well equipped staff possible.
Recruitment
Openings for positions are posted on bulletin boards in city buildings and are available in a binder at the reception desk at City Hall. All job vacancies are advertised in the Job Announcements section of this site, while many are also advertised in a variety of print and online publications.
Temporary and seasonal openings occur at the Bowie Ice Arena, in City parks, and on City work crews.
How to Apply for Vacancies
In order to apply for a specific open position, interested persons should follow the steps below.
- Go to Job Announcements
- Click on the link to complete the employment application form in its entirety.
- Be sure to complete a separate application for each position you wish to apply for.
- Applications will only be accepted for active, open positions. The City will not accept unsolicited applications, and resumes must be accompanied by a completed application.
- Submit your completed application and resume (if applicable) by finishing the online application.
You will be contacted by the Human Resources Office if you are selected for an interview.
