How to request City information:
The Maryland Public Information Act enables people to have access to government records without unnecessary cost or delay. The City of Bowie is committed to transparency in government. If you wish to review or request copies of documents that are not available on the city's website, please send your requests to:

The City is not obligated to do research, "create" records, or conduct investigations. The City is given 30 days to comply with your request. However, we will provide information for your inspection as soon as possible. If the information you are requesting does not exist, the City will inform you within 10 working days.
The following City documents/records can be obtained without a Maryland Public Information Act request:

- Standard forms
- Annual Operating and CIP Budget and financial reports
- Council meeting agendas, staff reports and other supporting materials for Council meetings
- Approved Council meeting minutes
- Documents designed to be provided to the public
