The City of Bowie Museums are closed to the public due to COVID-19. This includes Belair Mansion, Belair Stable, Old Town Bowie Welcome Center and the Bowie Railroad Museum. Please check back periodically to view changes in City Museum’s status.
Bowie enjoys a rich and diverse historic and cultural heritage, which offers an opportunity to explore our past and better understand our future. With these goals in mind, the City of Bowie has restored and maintains several historic sites.
The Museum staff is assisted by The Friends of Belair Estate and the Huntington Heritage Society, as well as the Radio History Society and the Prince George's County Genealogical Society, in this mission.
The mission of the City of Bowie Museums is to preserve, collect, interpret and celebrate for the public’s appreciation the history, architecture, city plans, and people of Bowie, Maryland, through education and exhibition, archaeology and advocacy of this diverse heritage.
