Ice Arena

Overview


The City of Bowie Ice Arena is a year round ice skating facility. When it first opened in 1971 it was only a seasonal facility, but today the Ice Arena is open for skating July through April each year. The 2020 - 21 skating season marks the start of the 49th season of skating at the City of Bowie Ice Arena. 
  
The facility offers ice skating for all ages and levels. Discounts are available for City of Bowie residents as well as groups and families.

The Bowie Ice Arena is home to the Bowie Figure Skating Club, Bowie Hockey Club, Bowie High School Ice Dogs and the Bowie ISI Figure Skating Team.

What's Happening at the Ice Arena


Facility Status: 
The Ice Arena is open with restrictions and limited activities. Modified ice hockey is now permitted. Please view the GAME DAY protocol in place.

December Training Blocks for Freestyle level skaters begin December 3.

There are no learn-to-skate classes during the month of December. Information on January classes is pending. If you are looking for a private lesson for you or your child please give us a call 301-809-3090.

Note: The facility closes for maintenance during the months of May and June, but is available for dry-floor activities. On the first Saturday in June the Bowie Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Home Show in conjunction with the City’s Bowiefest celebration.

 

 

The City of Bowie Ice Arena is celebrating almost 50 years of skating fun! The facility opened in 1971 and has gone through many changes over the years. We are very proud to be able to serve our community for so many years. Check out the slide show below.
