Overview 
The City of Bowie Ice Arena is a year round ice skating facility. When it first opened in 1971 it was only a seasonal facility, but today the Ice Arena is open for skating July through April each year. The 2021-22 skating season marks the start of the 50th season of skating at the City of Bowie Ice Arena.

The facility offers ice skating for all ages and levels. Discounts are available for City of Bowie residents as well as groups and families.

The Bowie Ice Arena is home to the Bowie Figure Skating Club, Bowie Hockey Club, Bowie High School Ice Dogs and the Bowie ISI Figure Skating Team.



What's Happening at the Ice Arena

IMPORTANT NOTICE

On January 10, 2022, the City Council voted to reverse the vaccination requirement to enter the facility. Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, the ice arena will operate with restrictions in place (similar to last season). Masks are still required. Learn-to-Skate classes will begin again on January 13 and will now finish one week later than the original schedule.

Monthly calendars are posted throughout the season.

Series 2 Class Schedule Classes will begin again January 13 and continue through February 3, 11 and 12 with Series 3 running February 17-March 31.

Series 3 Class schedule Classes will begin February 10 and continue through April 2. Registration will be held January 27 - February 5 at the Ice Arena. 

Note: The facility closes for maintenance during the months of May and June, but is available for dry-floor activities. On the first Saturday in June the Bowie Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Home Show in conjunction with the City's Bowiefest celebration.

The City of Bowie Ice Arena is celebrating almost 50 years of skating fun! The facility opened in 1971 and has gone through many changes over the years. We are very proud to be able to serve our community for so many years. Check out the slide show below.
